Cards People Keep
You've got a logo. You've got a printer picked out. What you don't have is a file they'll accept.
Send us the logo you already own and the size you need. We'll hand back files your printer can run.
Design time
$45-25020-minute minimum. Most cards land between one and two hours.
Usually one sitting
We can run the revisions live, so you're not waiting a day between versions.
Print-ready files
In whatever format your printer asks for.
The problem
The Part Nobody Warns
The printer's site wants a PDF at 3.5 by 2 inches, 300 DPI, CMYK, with an eighth-inch bleed. Your logo is a PNG somebody emailed you in 2019.
That gap is where most people give up and use the printer's built-in template. It's why so many small business cards in this town look like they came from the same six designs.
What you get
Who bills you
We Design It. Your Printer Prints It.
You get print-ready files. Take them to any printer you want.
Two separate bills.
- You pay us for the design time. That's the $45 to $250 on this page.
- Your printer bills you for the physical cards, at whatever they charge.
No printer picked yet? We'll tell you what to ask for.
What to send
What to Send Us
Four things. Most people have all of them in a folder somewhere already.
-
The size
Standard US cards are 3.5 by 2 inches. Want square, rounded, mini, or the slimmer European size? Give us the dimensions and we'll build to them.
-
Your logo
The biggest version you have. A vector file (.ai, .eps, .svg, .pdf) is ideal. If a small PNG is all you've got, say so and we'll talk about it.
-
What goes on the card
Name, title, phone, email, website, address. Whatever someone needs to read at arm's length.
-
Your printer's spec sheet
If you've picked one. Every printer wants something slightly different, and matching their sheet up front saves a round trip.
What This Costs
Design time, billed by the clock. The minimum is 20 minutes.
-
Minimum
$4520 minutes. Enough for a straightforward card built on a logo you already own.
-
Most cards
$125-250One to two hours. Front and back, a couple of layout options, and revisions until you're happy with it.
-
Each revision round
10-20 minAdded to your time. We can usually do these live, so you watch the change happen instead of waiting on an email.
-
Hourly rate
$125/hrThe same design rate as everything else we do.
You get an estimate before we start. If a card turns out to need more time than we quoted, we tell you before we spend it.
Still the Thing You Hand
Nothing replaced it. You meet someone at a chamber breakfast or standing in their driveway, and at the end of it you either hand them something or you spell your website out loud and hope they type it right.
The card is doing a job in that moment. It says you've been at this a while and you plan to be around next year.
That's worth more than twenty minutes of design time.

Tell Us the Size
The size is the thing we always have to circle back and ask for, so it's right here in the form.
We'll come back with an estimate in hours and what that works out to in dollars. No obligation, and no setup fee.
Got it.
We'll come back with an estimate, usually the same business day.

How fast is this?
What if my printer rejects the file?
